I feel like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon of six endless years of being a PhD student, with my brand spanking new title—Dr Kath Sugars—which I am happily trying on for size. Opportunities abound.
As well as my PhD, I have a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science with Honours in Chemistry. I started out working in the mineral assaying industry but, through having a family, my life changed course.
I have since worked and volunteered in nonprofits, in small independent schools and at CanTeen, in leadership, community building, and administration roles. In the last ten years I have combined study with teaching roles in chemistry and the business school at Murdoch University.
I am looking forward to my next life challenge, freelancing in consulting, research, and teaching.
If you are looking for someone intelligent, empathetic, organised, creative, and flexible—with a nonprofit bent—who knows a lot about group conflict, please get in touch.
